A New Normal!

Experts tell us that we are quickly approaching a time when the COVID crisis can be put behind us. Many people are eager to get back to normal. The thoughts of no more mask and social distancing will be welcomed with great anticipation. I want to suggest, however, that things should never go back to normal.

A New Normal!

We have been blessed to survive one of the worst health crises the world has ever known. This is a time to reflect on God’s goodness. This is a time to praise Him for his provision and power. There is a new normal we are to live by. That new normal is a greater appreciation for the Lord. That new normal is trusting Him more than ever. The new normal is loving Him in a way we did not do before. It will be so unfortunate, with all we have been through during this crisis, that we do not emerge from it without being closer to the Lord. He is so worthy to be praised. He deserves all the Glory.

Many will pick up exactly where they left off before all this began. But I encourage you to use all the experiences of this horrific time to change your spiritual trajectory to one in which you go higher and higher in the Lord.

A Mighty Move is Coming!

As we enter a new year this is a moment when we need to reflect on all God has done this past year. 2021 was a year of intense drama and activity in our world. The challenges have been great but God by his grace has brought us through. Even the start of the New Year is besought with record number of COVID infection cases. And yet it is my firm belief that God is doing something magnificent amid this seeming misfortune. I believe the groundwork has been laid for God to do some miraculous things in the earth. Events like this help us to realize just how powerless we are and how much we need God for our personal survival. The message coming through the failure of the government and medical community to handle this crisis is God alone is our source and protector. He alone can ensure that no plague come nigh our dwelling. He delivers us from the snare of the fowler and is a strong tower to all that run to Him. I would encourage you to resort to Him as your God and the lifter of your head. God will never forsake us, and He has promised no man can pluck us from His hand.

A Mighty Move is Coming!

I believe the greatest days the Body of Christ has ever seen are ahead. I believe these times are ripe for revival and a powerful move of God. I sense God is doing something special for you this year. I believe this is a year when God is going to manifest His glory in every aspect of your life. This is a season of change in which God is going to raise you up as a testimony to His goodness and His power. I need you to lift your head all ye gates and be ye lifted up ye every lasting door that the King of Glory may come in. Who is the King of God, the Lord Strong and mighty? The Lord mighty in battle. I dare say when things are at their worst, God does His best work. Consequently, I believe we are due a move of God unlike anything that has been seen ever before.

This is a defining moment in the history of the world because no one has an answer to these horrific conditions. But while man cannot save himself, we have a Savior, and His name is Jesus. Look to Him, seek Him, draw from Him because he stands ready to save and deliver. God bless and see you next time!

It’s Time to Dance

W.O.R.D. – Sat, Oct. 9, 2021 – Pastor Sabrina – It’s Time to Dance – 2 Samuel 16: 14-23.
David is the greatest king Israel ever had, a psalmist, worship leader, prophet, military genius, organizer, charismatic leader, motivator of men, and most of all a man of God, whom God said is a man after His own heart.

Back to School Confidence

As schools across this nation reopen for the Fall, I thought about how important it is that our children be encouraged to approach the school year as an opportunity to shine. The confidence our children have comes from the conditioning they receive from us. I remember my sister-in-law telling me many years ago how the teacher at the school that my niece attended in the second grade asked her who was Aunt Sabrina. The teacher wanted to know because my niece, Jonae had walked to the front of the class and announced to her that Aunt Sabrina told her that she was ten times smarter than everyone else in the class. (Daniel 1:20)

Back to School Confidence

For as long as they could talk, I have had my children to repeat Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. “Each of them has told me on a number of occasions that at critical moments in their lives that scripture would embolden them to perform under pressure.

Even if you will not be attending school this Fall, I want to encourage you to be confident in the fact that God is strengthening you to do anything required; regardless of the challenge you face.

Sincerity Over Perfection

“I am looking for sincerity not perfection.” Those words dropped in my spirit, recently, as I prepared to minister to a group of ministers. A person with a sincere heart is free from pretense, deceit, or false motives. Whereas an individual who is striving for perfection (free from all flaws, defects, mistakes, failure) can sometimes find themselves driven by human performance. As I relayed this information to the group of ministers, I noticed a shift in the atmosphere of Relief.

Sincerity Over Perfection

Relief from the pressure of performing. Relief from the anxiety of doing everything correctly. Relief from the fulfilling of others demands upon oneself, which can be quite burdensome. Matthew 11:30 says for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Life is so much better when we choose God’s ways. There is the less requiring of me and more dependence on Him. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
(Proverbs 3:5,6). Trusting and acknowledging Him frees us from the need to perform because when He is leading the pressure is taken off us. It’s all Him. Hallelujah!

Not too late

Recently I was doing some spring cleaning and found some old journals from years past. I was amazed as I read the various entries. I was moved as I read some of the promises God had made to me over the years. God was saying things like “now is the time.” Things like go forth, launch out, this is your season. You are a bold witness. I began to wonder in my mind what went wrong. Why didn’t these things come true? Did I miss something or somehow misunderstand what God was saying? Almost immediately I could hear the Lord say in my heart, “Those words were true, I saw you as victorious. I saw you as equipped, prepared and ready. But I had to align your way of thinking to my way of thinking and seeing. We had to be on the same wave-length.”

Not too late

In addition, I learned a very important lesson. What he called me to involved God doing a deep work inside me. It is as if God has to get me out of the way so that he could move through me fully. What I assumed was a denial of the promise was indeed a part of the process for how God made me able to walk in his promises. It is not a question of being too late. It is more about the stages of development which dictate the time when God’s promises can be fulfilled. I thought it would be encouraging to you because many of you are asking the same kind of questions I was asking. You too may be wondering about things God has promised in your life. Maybe you may be questioning the things God has said to you? I want to encourage you that God is calling you into things that are compatible with the changes he is making in you. It is when his work is complete that the promises will be fulfilled.

Fiercely Red!! . . . Despite What “They Said”!

Urban Dictionary defines fierce as being bold, esp. relating to fashion, clothes, hair, make-up.

I grew up in an era where it was taboo for brown skinned girls like myself to wear the color red. We were told to “stay away from red!” Red would clash with our skin tone. It was too much. Too loud. Just won’t look good.

Lies, lies, lies. Just another tactic to promote bondage. Consequently, it would not be until my adulthood that I felt comfortable enough to wear red. Red reflects beauty, confidence, strength, freedom, and boldness. Yes indeed.

With that being said, Girl go get you some red outfits and absolutely POP it with a red lip.

And as far as “What They Say”… Whatever!

Living Life Healed, Delivered, and Set Free

Living life healed, delivered, and freed is what Jesus provided for us on the cross. Healing comes as God releases His word into you addressing the defect or affliction. Deliverance is when God addresses the corresponding effects and bondages associated with the brokenness. Being set free is the establishment of a new pattern of living.
